Um, where exactly does it say you have to "kill over 5000 baddies" to finish the game? You don't have to get LB titles. Plenty of people finish NF first week out end never even knew what a LB point was. Though truthfully, unless you've been running or something, I reckon you probably would have killed several thousands of monsters over the time of finishing the game anyway. LB is just a bonus. Oh, and if you've set your heroes up right, its actually pretty easy to walk into a mob and just c-space ocassionally to keep your team attacking while you chat with guildies. Margos/djinn/shadow are softies and all you have to worry about with torment creatures is them spawning all the time. That only happens if you go mass AoE though, like 3 SF's or so. But even then, your heroes are usually more than enough to finish them before they duplicate anyway.

Yeah, high LB is great for DoA, but its not like you don't have alternatives. Stoneflesh aura beats LB hands down, and most nukers can handle the mobs easy enough without extra damage. Still, makes things easier. Which is fair since the people who have it have put time into getting it. They should get some benefit.

That sounds good to hear

Wonder what "changes" they're referring to?

Well, Personally, AB is fun for me, but zoning and constantly killing some monsters isn't.

The Fame title if probably unmaxable.

10K golds are easy. so are 10k chests. one of the easiest titles ever.

Luck and unlucky can be AFK'd. Easiest title ever.

Um, But where the hell can you max EITHER title by playing the game? Sunspear title is unmaxable as of now, and I've got to kill over 5000 baddies to beat the game? Wow...
First of all, you're completely ignoring the time it takes to get the money for the Drunkard, Sweet Tooth (10k double clicks takes far more than a few minutes btw), and Lucky/Unlucky titles, which is beyond substantial, and - for most people without uber-1337 farming skills - beyond what it would take to get max lightbringer. Also, I chat while destroying Margonites in Domain of Secrets all the time; if I'm on my ranger I do it drunk too =P

10k chests takes quite a while, and there's no way that killing 4000 Margonites will take longer than acquiring 10k gold items. Of course, you could always buy the golds at 1k per...but that's another 10 million gold, which you had to spend time to get.

Getting 10 million faction will take you longer doing just AB than getting max lightbringer. Sure, you may have more fun doing AB, but we're not discussing that at the moment, because it's purely subjective. We're looking at the time it takes to get the max rank of a title, and how the titles compare, to determine if lightbringer is unnecessarily time intensive. So far, it's on par or less time intensive than most anything, save Protector and Cartographer.

I'm very sure r15 is the cap on the hero title; it's a nice number, it's a dragon emote (according to Gaile), seems like the perfect place to stop. The fact that NO ONE has gotten there yet just shows how much time it takes to get there.

When I said that Lightbringer is maxable by playing the game, I did not say "you will max it while you beat the game". I mean that you earn points towards it by actually playing PvE, unlike all the other titles save Protector and Sunspear, which is obviously still unmaxable. You could throw Cartographer in there, but it's not really something you do while just killing stuff; you have to deliberately wall hug and search for those little corners. I'm just saying that you don't need to do anything out of the ordinary to get max lightbringer, just play PvE, a lot, in the Realm of Torment.

With the huge amount of players running around with the protector title it's hardly of any value. I'm glad that there comes a change and I'll go for the "hard mode" missions right away together with my brother and some hero's

No, there will not be a download tomorrow. Or if there is one, it won't be anything to do with Hard Mode. Tomorrow brings an information update of Hard Mode, the first real discussion of what it is and what other elements of the game are enhanced by it. Again, tomorrow will not provide an game update but an information update provided by the Design Team about changes to the game coming in the future.

Oh, I really do disagree. Everyone will know that Protector titles are still of value -- there's nothing lost in having different goals. No worries!

Sorry, but you are mistaken. I have no idea what the Level 15 emote is, and have never said that it's a dragon or anything else.

Well, ok, I guess I've joined with The Frog in discussing the exciting prospect of the presentation of a Giant Gerbil as the Level 15 emote, but surely everyone knows that was a joke.

Errr... you did know that, right, guys?

Guys??

Except that the protector title will no longer count towards the 'kind of a big deal title' since it's not a max title anymore.

What is it with people's obsession of maxable titles?

Getting Koabd isn't really proving anything anyway.
I guess people are different, and some are getting too title obsessed in my opinion.

So, how long do you think it will take you to complete all missions again in Hard mode once all the "pros" post their builds and their ideas on how it's done? Three days? I know it will probably take me less than a week, with or without help from the forums. I know I will hunker down with all my guildies and friends and keep trying till we complete them all. If all that's involved is completing the mission under more difficult circumstances, then I think we'll be able to get it fairly quickly in due time. Might not be straight forward, but then again, my first Foundry run took us 6 hours, and we were considered "fast" :P

If you want to be "Kind of a Big Deal" then you should welcome any change that makes your titles more valuable. My beef is when they make certain titles require a LOT more work than others. Right now, the Drunkard title is just too easy, especially with the bot everyone is using but everyone is refusing to concede that it exists.

It only means something to yourself, and if you earned it, only you know. Pretty much all the titles are like that, except for Champion and maybe Hero.

No, it was just a way to KOaBD. Lets face it, finishing the game is about as hard and as meaningful as tying your shoelaces. In factions it basically gives you master rewards if you don't suck. Nightfall and Prophecies require a bit more thought but not much.

Wise man there.

I welcome hard mode, as it turns out only yesterday i decided to get Prot Titles so that will maybe motivate me to do so with the guardian title.

[Gate of Madness on hard mode.... *shudder*]

Did I say it was upsetting me? I just stated that there is a difference and what it was, nothing more, nothing less.

The only thing I do find unfortunate is the name guardian...I specifically got all 3 protector titles for my monk who is a protection monk...so I kinda don't feel like getting the guardian title cause I simply think it cool to have the protector title on my protection monk (get it). Great Protector would have suited me better. I really don't care if it's a max title or not.

Hmm personally, I think the protector titles are all the easiest to accomplish, especially Tyria. After you have done all missions at least 1 time on 10 different characters, you sort of know every trick there is to doing it fastest. Let Gaile come with her socalled 'hard'-mode, i bet i can do it before breakfast

Heh, someone might want to change the wiki then, cause that's where I got that tidbit from.
